Threadlifts work by incorporating two mechanisms – tightening of the skin by pulling on the MINTS and the subsequent production of collagen. 

• After local anaesthesia, MINTS are inserted via a cannula into your skin where the barbed hooks grab onto your existing tissues and muscles.
• The threads are then tightened.
• This gives your saggy skin a taut and smooth appearance, thereby replicating the skin of your youth before gravity took a toll.
• Once the hooked barbs grip onto your existing tissues and muscles, it replicates injury to your skin, which in turn results in the production of collagen.
• Collagen is naturally present in our body and is one of the building blocks of our skin, bones, hair, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It is responsible for preventing saggy skin and maintaining its plumbness.
• As collagen is produced, it contributes to the lifting and sculpting effect on your skin in addition to the tightened MINTS which lifted your skin.
• Your skin will now not only look lifted and sculpted, but it will also look plump and youthful.

Immediately after a threadlift, there might be some mild bruising or inflammation, but it will resolve after some time. You might also experience some nausea due to the anaesthesia and you must avoid facial creams and make-up for 2 days following your procedure. 

The lifting and sculpting effect of a threadlift will be immediate but it will take some time for collagen to be producted, which contributes to the plumpness of your skin.

MINTS are biodegradable which means they will eventually dissolve after a while. Once they do, you can arrange for another threadlift session to rejuvenate your skin again.

• Protrusion of threads: it is always important to get your threadlift done by an experienced specialist to ensure that the MINTS are inserted correctly.
• Infection: although this complication is very rare, it could still happen.
• Skin dimpling: if a threadlift is not executed well, it can cause indentations or skin dimpling to occur.
• Facial asymmetry: if there is insufficient lifting to one side of the face, it will look asymmetrical.
